Official: 10 countries study accelerated vaccine registration

MOSCOW, Aug 28 (PRIME) -- More than 10 countries partners of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF) are studying Russia's experience with accelerated registration of vaccines for the COVID-19, CEO Kirill Dmitriev told reporters on Friday.

"Over 10 countries partners of the RDIF are studying the Russian experience with accelerated registration of pharmaceuticals and vaccines against the coronavirus with proven safety, based on proven solutions, such as the human adenoviruses used in the Russian vaccine Sputnik V," Dmitriyev said.

He also said that accelerated registration of the Sinovac vaccine in China shows that many countries follow Russia in its steps to fight the COVID-19.

The Healthcare Ministry registered the world’s first coronavirus vaccine on August 11. At first, the Gamaleya institute and pharmaceutical company Binnopharm will produce the vaccine, and R-Pharm and Generium will soon join them. Multi-industry holding Sistema said that Binnopharm’s capacities allow it to produce 1.5 million doses of the vaccine per year, and that it planned to start mass production until the end of 2020.
